State's deal with cranberry grower Makepeace will preserve large tract of 'globally rare' land

Wareham, MA


The Department of Fish and Game recently purchased, from the A.D. Makepeace Company, a total of 160 acres.

The land is home to several endangered species , including the Northern Red-Bellied Cooter and Eastern Box turtles.
